September 9--Inspiring Work

Inspiration usually comes during work, rather than before it.  --Madeleine L'Engle

It's quite challenging to set down every single detail of a project before starting and expect that to carry you perfectly through the process. Once the "baby steps" get underway, things will happen. Unexpected blessings and obstacles will arise. Directions may need to change, or at least a detour may be needed. Each change of plans in the midst of a project is a new opportunity for inspiration.
There have been multitudes of inspirations, dreams and ideas that never came to fruition, because no work was ever started. I have had quite a few of those myself. 😉😉
I would say that today's quote describes very well the process that happens for those who are successful in recovery through the 12-Step programs. Addicts start because of misery, hitting rock bottom, and each step brings new inspiration relative to how life can be better if they put in the work.
Even writing this blog fulfills the quote above, because I've learned to just start writing, doing the work, and the inspiration comes. Magic! (Not really.)
    Loving the work and inspiration,
