July 22--Rest is the Right Thing

So much of this was patience--waiting, and thinking and doing things right. So much of all this, so much of all living was patience and thinking.  --Gary Paulsen

I started yesterday's golf-free rest day with a 6:00 am walk to the Aquatic Center (about 3/4 mile) for a lap swim. It was heavenly to be in the water after two days of extremely hot golf play. I feel very much like I am living my mantra: "I lead a charmed life especially when traveling." To have a pool that close to our home base, where they charge me (senior-rate) a whopping $2.50 per swim--what a blessing!
In the afternoon, we went to several thrift stores looking for treasures, several of which were purchased. See below for options we had available. A couple of our group went to a casino, but reported that they have not suddenly become millionaires. The rest of us enjoyed drinks outdoors at a local brew pub (Pinetop Brewing Company, Brewed at 7000'). We also shared three excellent appetizers for our evening meal. We debated going to a movie, but settled instead for game-playing and lazing at our home base.
Today we play the third of the local courses.
    Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate,

What more does one need!??!
