This is one of my favorite quotes and a sentiment that I love. You also learn more in life by occasionally breaking the rules.
I belong to two ladies' golf leagues, and the players are quite the "sticklers" for rules. I get that. Some, however, are not nice about it, and have been known to make other golfers cry with their fussing. Geez, it's a game, get a grip.
I truly appreciate other folks following the rules, traffic laws being a good example. But all of us, on occasion, have run a yellow light ("squeeze that lemon") or even a red light ("crush that tomato"). Those times were only fun if we made it through without incident.
And how about all the rules swirling around us today relative to food?!!? Must eat this, must not eat that--the rules are endless and wretchedly confusing. Obeying all those rules makes one miss the fun of trying new foods, one of the great pleasures of life.
It's a good practice to consider whether that rule you are following is a good and worthy one.
