June 15--In the Flow

What makes a river so restful to people is that it doesn't have any doubt--it is sure to get where it is going, and it doesn't want to go anywhere else.  --Hal Boyle

Being in the flow of life, not trying to paddle upstream, makes for an easy ride. Such was yesterday at the beach. After a brief time in the sand in the morning, storms rolled in, and the beach was vacated. We spent the afternoon inside, lazing, reading, snoozing and playing cards. My great-nephew googled how to use two decks of regular cards to play UNO, and we were off and running. After our pizza and salad supper, the sun had come out, and my niece and I went for a walk along the Coastal Highway to get some movement in after such a lazy day. Then we played UNO late into the evening. At one point we were all laughing hysterically, and when we stopped, no one knew what we were laughing about. This time with my niece and her son is pure joy!
Today is a beautiful clear sunny day. Off to the beach!
