March 11--Palace or Jail?

Be thine own palace, or the world's thy jail.  --John Donne

I love this one! Love yourself up, in your own body, mind and spirit, satisfied with the package, with no need to prove yourself to anyone. If you are looking for outside approval, you are constantly at the mercy of the fickle, critical world, trapped by others' opinions and judgments.
I think we spend much of our early lives in the "jail." We want to be popular, liked, to fit in. It takes some life experience, some maturity, some "school of hard knocks," to decide to "be thine own palace." This brings a priceless freedom, peace, and comfort in your own skin.
    I'm choosing "palace" today,
