October 3--Not Everyone Can

I closed my eyes for just a minute, and when I opened them, I started thinking about the obvious miracles in my life today. I can see. Not everyone can. I can read. Not everyone can. I have lots of friends. Not everyone does. I have good health. Not everyone does. I have a job I love. I know that many people are unemployed and would love to have any job, let alone one as good as mine. The apple I had for dessert was particularly tasty. Not everyone had an apple or dessert or even lunch.  --Suellen Miller

This baseball fan can celebrate. Not everyone can. The Cubs won the third playoff game against the Padres to advance to the NLDS against the Brewers. That means at least three more Cubs games this fall. YIPPEE!!!
Let's talk "good health." Yesterday for the first time since the whole sciatica mess began, I walked Barney a mile without using the cane. That's big balance progress, supported by recently added ankle strengthening exercises and compression sleeves for my knees. I played pickleball three (yes, 3!!) times this week. All those times I screamed, "I want my life back!"--well, I think I'm just about there. And I am SO grateful!
    Keep moving!
