October 21--Thought-Provoking Questions

Every person has a legacy. You may not know what your impact is, and it may not be something that you can write on your tombstone, but every person has an impact on this world.  --Dara Horn

There was a short article by Peter Moore in the Aug/Sept AARP Magazine about writing a legacy letter about the most important things in one's life. For inspiration, these questions, written by Jay Sherwin, were suggested:
  • What life event most shaped you, and what did you learn from it?
  • Who were the most positive influences in your life, and what did they teach you?
  • What are you most grateful for?
  • What do you wish you had done differently?
  • How do you want to be remembered?
  • What do you wish for your family and dearest friends? What advice would you give them?
I will use these questions for blog topics over the next few days. I'm thinking that one pass at these questions will not be enough, that they are worthy of revisiting periodically.
These are life-appreciation questions in areas where we are happy with our lives, but also potential-for-change questions where we would like to leave a different legacy.
    Stay tuned,
