    Yippee! It is October, my birthday month and my second favorite month. (My favorite month is whichever one holds Opening Day of baseball season, usually March now.) The Cubs won their first playoff game yesterday, so we have a great start. 

    October appears to include birthday celebrations for both my husband and me, a trip to northern Minnesota to see our son's family before winter sets in, lots more pickleball and swimming, and fall garden projects. Cooler weather encourages more meal and reading times on the deck. The trees light up with bright colors. I may actually play a bit of golf for the first time this year. The NBA season starts.
